![]() ![]() Don’t let the toxic people discourage you from playing a game that you are interested in. I’ve met a lot of nice, cool people in Valorant. Try playing with your friends to have fun and get a better grip of the game, or just meet people by solo queuing. Games should be fun, and not frustrating. Who knows? Maybe they’ve had a bad day, or have been called trash themselves. In Valorant, or any FPS game, there’ll always be toxic people, and you should just ignore them. I know you cant hear them giving callouts, but having 1 asshole muted benefits you from being discouraged, and being discouraged makes you play WORSE. ![]() You should just instantly turn off their chat and voice chat so you can’t hear them. They’ll flame you for being shit in a scenario and say discouraging things. I come across teammates almost every single day who are toxic and ruin the game, even though it’s just an unrated. Use the experiences of why you died and apply it towards improving. Don’t be like me and feel embarrassed for what you did, especially since you are new. Sometimes you lose a 1v1 game-saving match, fuck up a round, or just have a bad game. Moving onto the general community, people WILL be toxic. You could watch streamers, pros, etc on how they use their abilities. Think in a situation how you can use your abilities to catch enemies off guard, and to benefit the entire team. I don’t know what you main, but make sure not to do things like blind your own teammates just to get all the picks, or heal yourself in an awkward spot that teammates are trying to pass through or are shooting from. You should be using it to benefit your team and yourself. Unlike CS:GO, which doesn’t have abilities, they’re a big part of the game. Should be easier since you were a CS player. Learn the recoil patterns on the rifles/guns you use from short, medium, to long distance on the dummies, until you can develop a decent sense towards recoil and controlling it. My advice to you is that you should go and practice your aim in the range. I feel like I was exactly in your position with feeling discouraged! Now, I openly communicate with my team and give callouts, practiced my abilities to benefit my team and myself, and I’ve turned into a decently average player from iron 1 to gold 2. That is, when my friends started playing in August, I’d start playing with them, but keep VC from strangers off (which was a bad thing to do), as I used to take insults/flaming personally, and I’d feel hurt from it. I didn’t pick up the game for two months. I felt incredibly embarrassed and discouraged. In VC and text chat, the guy would just flame me and tell me to leave & uninstall. The top fragging Reyna would get very frustrated at me, as I had no previous FPS knowledge, and I was bottom fragging. I was pure shit at the game, I won’t lie. I started playing, or played a single match of unrated, in around late June.
